One supplier for every polypropylene cable tie
Three PP series cover wet, outdoor and food-safe applications. Each series comes in the same seven sizes, so you can switch material without changing your spec sheet.
Standard PP Cable Ties (TSPP)
Water-resistant polypropylene ties that float. Built for humid, marine and underwater bundling, 66–342 N.
UV-Stabilised PP Cable Ties (PPUV)
Polypropylene with added UV stabilisers to resist sunlight and ageing outdoors. See all UV options on our UV resistant cable ties page.
Which polypropylene cable tie is right for your application?
Match the series to the environment. Wet or underwater: TSPP. Sun-exposed: PPUV. Food or pharmaceutical lines with inspection equipment: PPMP.
| Series | Material | Temperature | Tensile Strength | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TSPP Standard PP | Polypropylene — floats on water | −15°C to +105°C | 66–342 N (15–77 lbs) | Wet, marine and underwater bundling |
| PPUV UV-Stabilised PP | Polypropylene + UV stabiliser | −15°C to +105°C | 66–342 N (15–77 lbs) | Outdoor, irrigation and sun-exposed lines |
| PPMP Metal Detectable PP | Metal-impregnated polypropylene (blue) | −15°C to +105°C | 66–342 N (15–77 lbs) | Food and pharmaceutical production lines |
Tensile values depend on width. Confirm the rating for your size with our team before ordering.

How are PP cable ties packed?
Standard packing follows the catalogue; private-label packaging can be discussed with your quotation.
- Bags of 100 — for resale and small projects.
- Bags of 500 or 1,000 — bulk packs for installers and production lines.
- Export cartons — packed for sea or air freight.
Can you supply PP cable ties in our colour or brand?
Blue is our standard polypropylene colour. Custom colours are possible — availability depends on your order volume, so send the colour and quantity and we will confirm.
See all branding options on our custom zip ties page.
Where polypropylene cable ties are used
PP ties work where moisture, salt water or food hygiene would push other ties to the limit.
Fish Farms & Aquaculture
Nets, cages and pens — ties that float and do not swell in water.
Underwater & Offshore
Underwater engineering and offshore oil field cabling in wet, salty conditions.
Fishing Vessels & Seafood
On-deck bundling and seafood bundling on boats and in processing.
Irrigation & Agriculture
Irrigation systems and outdoor runs — UV-stabilised PPUV for sun exposure.
Outdoor Cable Management
Humid and outdoor cable runs where a low-moisture material holds its fit.
Food & Pharmaceutical Lines
Blue PPMP ties that metal detectors and X-ray systems can find.
Polypropylene vs nylon 66 cable ties
Both are self-locking plastic ties, but the material changes where they perform best. Figures below come from our product catalogue.
| Property | Polypropylene (PP) | Nylon 66 (PA66) |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture absorption | Low — does not swell in water | 2.7–2.8% at 23°C / 50% RH |
| Floats on water | Yes (TSPP) | No |
| Operating temperature | −15°C to +105°C | −40°C to +85°C (standard grade) |
| Tensile at 4.8 mm width | 164 N (37 lbs) | 222 N (50 lbs) |
| Tensile at 7.6 mm width | 342 N (77 lbs) | 560 N (130 lbs) |
| Choose it when | Wet, salt-water or food environments | Maximum strength in dry or cold conditions |

Certified, compliant & ready for your audit file
Our factory certificates are below. Product-specific documents for polypropylene — the FDA resin statement and flammability test report — are available on request.
How do we control quality on every batch?
Every order is checked before it is packed.
- Incoming resin — checked before it enters production.
- Moulding — on our own automated injection lines.
- Inspection — visual and critical-dimension checks.
- Testing — tensile testing; test reports on request.
Need a PP size or spec we do not list?
Our catalogue PP range runs from 2.5 to 7.6 mm wide and 100 to 370 mm long. If your application needs something else, send the dimensions, load and annual quantity — our team will confirm what we can supply.

Polypropylene cable ties — frequently asked questions
Do polypropylene cable ties float?
Yes. Our standard TSPP polypropylene cable ties float on water, which makes them easy to recover and well suited to fish farms, nets and other on-water work. Nylon 66 ties do not float.
Are PP cable ties safe for food contact?
The polypropylene resin we use meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for food contact. A compliance statement is available on request. For lines with metal detectors or X-ray inspection, choose our blue PPMP metal detectable cable ties.
Polypropylene vs nylon cable ties โ which should I choose?
Choose polypropylene when the tie will sit in water, salt spray or a wash-down area: it absorbs very little moisture and floats. Choose nylon 66 cable ties when you need the highest tensile strength or work below −15°C.
What temperature range do PP cable ties handle?
All three series — TSPP, PPUV and PPMP — are rated for −15°C to +105°C operating temperature.
Do you make metal detectable polypropylene cable ties?
Yes. The PPMP series has metal content distributed through the whole tie, so it can be found by metal detectors, X-ray inspection and magnetic equipment. It comes in blue, in one-time locking and releasable designs.
What is the minimum order for polypropylene cable ties?
Our minimum order is US$5,000 per order. Ties are packed 100, 500 or 1,000 pieces per bag. More ordering answers are on our bulk cable ties FAQ.
Can I get a flammability test report for PP cable ties?
Yes. Ask our team and we will send the flammability test report for the product you are ordering, together with any other documents your approval file needs.
